Who we are

StandbyAlerts is a product of Gaffney Enterprises, LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). StandbyAlerts is a waitlist-and-notification service that helps service businesses fill last-minute appointment openings: customers join a business’s “StandbyAlerts list,” and when an opening comes up we notify matched, consenting customers by text and/or email. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

When you join a business’s StandbyAlerts list, manage your preferences, or contact us, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address (if you sign up for email alerts or include it)
  • Your mobile phone number (if you sign up for text alerts or include it)
  • The services and providers you’re interested in, and your availability preferences
  • Your consent choices and when you made them
  • If you use our contact form: the category and message you send us

We also collect standard server logs (IP address, browser, referrer, timestamps) for security and diagnostic purposes.

How we use your information

  • Appointment-opening alerts: to notify you, on the channels you consented to (text and/or email), when a matching opening becomes available at the business whose StandbyAlerts list you joined, and to let you claim it.
  • Email: to send opt-in confirmations, the alerts you signed up for, and to reply to inquiries.
  • Phone / text: if you provide a mobile number and opt in, to text you about appointment openings (on behalf of the business) and related service messages. We do not send mass marketing texts. Message frequency varies with appointment availability. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Contact form: to respond to your inquiry.
  • To operate, secure, and improve the service, and to comply with legal obligations.

SMS / Text messaging

By providing your mobile number and opting in on a business’s StandbyAlerts signup page, you consent to receive text messages from StandbyAlerts, on behalf of the business whose StandbyAlerts list you joined, about appointment openings and related service updates. These are notification messages sent in response to your request to join — not marketing. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Opting out of text messages will not affect your ability to use other channels or to contact us.

How we share your information

StandbyAlerts connects you with the businesses whose StandbyAlerts lists you choose to join. As a result:

  • With the business you join: when you join a business’s StandbyAlerts list, we share the information you provide — your name, contact details, service and provider preferences, and availability — with that specific business, so they and we (acting on their behalf) can notify you about, and book, appointment openings. That business uses the information under its own practices.
  • Service providers: we use trusted vendors to operate the service (for example, our text-messaging and email-delivery providers); they process your information only to provide those services to us.
  • Legal: we may share information when required by law or to protect our rights.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your information with unrelated third parties for their own marketing. No mobile information will be shared with third parties for marketing or promotional purposes; your mobile opt-in and SMS consent are used only to deliver the appointment alerts you signed up for and are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as you remain on a StandbyAlerts list, as needed to operate the service and keep our records, or to comply with legal obligations. You can leave a list or unsubscribe at any time (see Your choices).

Your choices

  • Manage your StandbyAlerts list: use the “Manage” link in any alert, or request one at standbyalerts.com/manage, to update availability, add or remove channels, pause, leave, or rejoin.
  • Email opt-out: click unsubscribe in any email, or manage your channels as above.
  • SMS opt-out: reply STOP to any text to opt out; reply HELP for help.
  • Access and deletion: you may request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by contacting us.

Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information you provide. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision.
